Attractions

Daedalus D-Day 80 is an event for the 80th D-Day Anniversary Celebrations happening over the 8-9 June on the historic former WWII airfield HMS Daedalus, Lee on the Solent, Hampshire.

A family event for all to enjoy with a living history area for re-enactors to attend for the public to come, see and learn about WWII military equipment, services and its history, there will also be Static Aircraft, Flying Display with part portraying the history of the airfield including a Parachute Drop, Music, Field Gun Runs, Marching Bands, Funfair, Motorcycles Stunts, Period Vehicles and an Emporium. Each day will feature slightly different with its attractions.

Static Aircraft & Flying Display

Come and see aircraft on the ground and in the air on both days as we provide a thrilling flying display with aircraft portraying the history of HMS Daedalus to D-Day.

Marching Bands

Listen to amazing sounds from military and volunteers bands as they march on the arena.

WWII Historic Airfield

You'll be on an airfield that played a significant part in the build up and operations for and on D-Day

Family Entertainment

There will be an abundance of attractions such as Music, Field Gun Runs, Punch & Judy, Funfair Rides, Motorcycle Stunts, Period Vehicles and an Emporium; something for everyone.

Re-enactment & Living History

See the WWII Living history area where you can learn about WWII military equipment, services and it’s history.

Music & Dancing

Period and other genres of music and entertainment to keep you dancing throughout the weekend

This event is being delivered on behalf of Fareham Borough Council with the support from Montserrat Events CIC, the team that brought you the Lee Victory Festival and the Solent Airport, Daedalus airport operator RCA.
