Event Information

To help plan your trip to Daedalus D-Day 80, the following important information is here to provide details on the location, the event opening times, car parking, toilets and food and beverages outlets.

Event Times (Saturday & Sunday)

  • Car Park opens 08:30

  • Ticket Entrance opens 09:30

  • Attractions/Entertainment starts 10:00

  • Air Display start 12:00

  • Event Closes on Saturday 20:30 and 19:30 on Sunday

By Car

  • Travelling using the M27 - Head towards sign posts for Gosport from the M27 at Junction 9 or Junction 10 follow the A27

  • ​Junction 9 once on the A27 follow the signs to Gosport and you'll see YELLOW event signs. Please follow these directional signs all the way as they will direct you to the event car park. ​​

  • Junction 10 once on the A27 then follow the signs for Gosport on the A32.  The road does split and you bear right towards Lee on the Solent onto Newgate Lane.  Follow the signs all the way, go straight towards Lee at all roundabouts, at the 3rd roundabout (Peel Common) go straight over and you'll now start to see YELLOW event direction signs; please follow. At the next set of traffic lights turn right  and follow the event parking signs. 

  • For Local traffic approaching the Solent Airport please follow the event signs onto Daedalus drive from the Broom Way traffic light junction and follow the parking signs, ​

 

By Rail 

  • The nearest train station to Lee on the Solent is Fareham station, which is 11 minutes away by car.

By Bus

  • Use the X5 towards Gosport Bus Station - operated by First Bus.  

By Taxi

Parking

  • The organisers recommend that local residents where possible walk or take public transport into Lee on the Solent.

  • When traveling to the event please follow the traffic management signs and directions

  • Event car park is located on the Solent Airport as part of the event location, which is off Daedalus Drive, This is main event car, there's spaces for 2000 cars, please do use this. 

  • Event carparking is Free when bought in advance before 7th June 23:59 with event entrance tickets.  On the day price for car parking will be £5.00 per car. 

  • There public car parks available to use that are close by, they are: 

    • Monks Hill Car Park

    • Marine Parade No 1

    • Beach Road Car Park

  • If you do need to drive and do not use the public car parks please ensure you park in an appropriate manner and do not obstruct any openings or the flow of traffic. 

  • Disabled car parking will be available in all the public car park and there will be limited spaces in the main event car park.

  • There will be place for motorcycle and bicycles to be parked. 

  • Visitors to the event are responsible for driving and parking their own vehicles. 

  • All vehicles are left at the owners’ risk.​​

  • Where an area is coned off parking is not permitted.

  • Cars will be directed into the event car park by event organisers, marshals and security.  Please do follow their instructions.

Toilets 

  • There will be event toilets within the main event area.

  • There are a number of public toilets located along the seafront. These can be found at Marine Parade No 1 car park and two other toilet blocks can be found to the east and west at around 500m walk.

Photography & Filming

  • Photography and Filming will be taking place throughout the event by our media team for promotional and archival purposes.       

  • The photographs and recordings made are likely to appear on the event, partner and sponsor websites together with various social media sites.

  • If you would prefer not to be photographed, please ensure that you inform the Organiser Event Office or an Event Team Representative where they can issue you with an identification badge for non-photography & filming. Tickets

  • Tickets are only valid for entry on the date stated on the ticket..

  • With the use of our ticket pricing the following you may be required as proof on entry:

  • MOD90 Current valid MOD90 ID card for serving member of His Majesty’s Armed Forces will be needed to be presented on entry. 1 per ticket order whether single or family.

  • Veterans are requested to provide a Veteran Badge or Veterans Discount Card if available as we’re interested in understanding which veterans have come along.  It is not required to gained entrance.

  • If the above proof is not shown then the difference of the full ticket price must be paid to gain entry on the presented tickets.

  • The tickets are non-refundable.

  • All tickets prices include VAT, which is charged at the current rate of 20%

  • Premier Upgrade Ticket must be supported by a general entrance ticket. 

  • The show will be delivered unless cancelled in its entirety.

  • No refunds will be given due to inclement weather, come prepared!

  • The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry.

  • All bags will be searched for security purposes.

  • Upon entry, each attendee will be given a wrist band to identify their entrance to the event. This must visible when requested by a member of the event management team and can be used for re-entry on the same day.

Food & Beverages​

  • No alcohol may be brought into the main even ticketed area. Any alcohol found will be confiscated and kept at the event control tent.  Owners will be given a ticket so they can collect their items when they leave.

  • Food is permitted to be brought in to the event. There will be a number of food and beverage vendors available who will be offering a range of different foods and drinks throughout the event. 

  • We are encouraging visitors to bring their picnic chairs and blankets so to have somewhere to sit and enjoy the event. The organisers will not be permitting the erection of any Gazebo structure within the event area. 

General Terms & Conditions

  • The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or amend the event without notice or refund to public, traders or any other person/persons affected by any change or cancellation.

  • Orders given out by the event stewards/security/volunteers must be obeyed at all times and the Organisers reserve the right to remove any person/persons without stating a reason from the event areas.

  • Ticket prices include VAT, which will be charged at the current rate of 20%

  • The Organisers of this event accept no liability for any loss by any person/persons on or around the event areas. Public liability insurance will be in place. 

  • All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

  • Any lost wristbands / tickets will not be refunded by the event Organisers under any circumstances.

  • No vehicle movements will be allowed within the event area unless authorised and mut be under supervision. 

  • For the visitor's safety, public notices will be delivered via the event PA system which will be in the main event area.

  • On entry to the event areas, please check and be aware of the evacuation routes. 

  • The event is dog friendly but they must be kept on leads at all times. Owners must be aware of their dogs’ hygiene and must clean up after their pets. Owners not abiding to this will be asked to leave the event areas. Dogs causing a nuisance will be removed. 

  • Please keep all the event areas tidy and use the litter bins provided. 

  • By purchasing a ticket you are agreeing that you will be committing a criminal act and subject to prosecution if you go airside by going across the event boundary fence without authorised permission in relation to the Civil Aviation Act 1982.

  • The event is being held on an airfield, which is predominantly grass. The Organisers advise that due to uneven terrain of the event site; it may be at times difficult for spectators to move around freely and easily. As a result of which it may not be suitable for those who suffer certain medical conditions.

  • All spectators enter the event at their own risk and are advised to wear suitable footwear and ensure those with impaired access the event with a good mobility scooter / wheelchair with the support of a carer.

  • Carers can enter for free but an entry ticket must be bought for those who are being cared for.

  • Please be patient and polite with the event organisers, marshals and security teams (most of them are volunteers); they are here to help you and to ensure the successful and safe delivery of the event. Any visitors who are unruly, become aggressive or violent towards any of the event staff will be refused entry or if they are already in the event will be asked to leave and if not they will be removed from the event site.
