Daedalus D-Day80

80th D-Day Anniversary Celebrations are happening over the 8-9 June on the historic former WWII airfield HMS Daedalus, Lee on the Solent, Hampshire; which is a significant place in the part of the overall 80th anniversary as it was the single busiest airfield on D-Day with 435 sorties.

A family event for all to enjoy with a living history area for re-enactors to attend for the public to come, see and learn about WWII military equipment, services and it’s history, there will also be Static Aircraft, Flying Display with part portraying the history of the airfield including a Parachute Drop, Music, Field Gun Runs, Marching Bands, Funfair, Motorcycles Stunts, Period Vehicles and an Emporium. Each day will be slightly different with its attractions.

Event Times:

Saturday 8th: Car park opens at 09.00 with gates opening at 09.30.  Event starts at 10.00 and closes at 21.00. 

Sunday 9th: Car park opens at 09.00 with gates opening at 09.30.  Event starts at 10.00 and closes at 19.00 

On both days the main flying display will be between 14.30-16.00 with other flying element before and after this; all subject to the weather conditions. 

During each day there will timed activities happening on the arena and the music marquees
